In Human Design, your Authority is your built-in decision-making strategy. It’s the inner compass that guides you towards the correct choices for you. Understanding and living according to your Authority is a key aspect of aligning with your true self.
The Emotional Authority is found in people who have a defined Solar Plexus Center. This Authority suggests the need for emotional clarity over time before making decisions. These individuals ride an emotional wave and are best served by waiting for the wave to settle before making important choices. This is to ensure that decisions are not clouded by temporary emotional highs or lows.
Sacral Authority is present in Generators and some Manifesting Generators with a defined Sacral Center. Those with this Authority are meant to respond from their gut instincts. Their Sacral Center provides a direct yes or no response in the moment, which can be felt as a gut feeling or bodily sensation. Trusting this gut response is crucial for them.
Projectors, and some Manifesting Generators and Reflectors, can have what is called a Splenic Authority. Individuals with this Authority are guided by their Splenic Center, the center of intuition and instinct. This intuitive sense often communicates through quiet whispers or instant knowings, which are best followed in the moment as they can be fleeting.
The Self-Projected Authority is found in a small percentage of Projectors. These individuals are guided by their G Center, or Identity Center. They are meant to talk things out and listen to their own voice to reach clarity. Their own words guide them to the correct action or decision.
The Ego Manifested Authority is unique to a small number of Manifestors, who have a defined Heart Center. They are meant to speak from their willpower and desires. Similarly, some Projectors and Manifesting Generators may have a Ego-Projected Authority, meaning they should wait for invitations or opportunities to present themselves and then express their needs and desires clearly.
In short, living according to your Authority in Human Design brings you into alignment with your true self and supports optimal decision-making. It’s a process of learning to trust your inner guidance system, which leads to greater authenticity and fulfillment.
